Supporting Earth Friendly Organisations

Our local communities are full of amazing individuals and organisations who work hard to support people and planet.  AELA has created a number of initiatives aimed at supporting Earth friendly organisations by connecting them with legal, governance and other expertise.

AELA currently offers governance support to Earth friendly organisations.  We can connect you with lawyers and others who can provide advice about starting up and running your organisation - particularly cooperatives - by emailing: convenor@earthlaws.org.au.  We can provide general governance advice and referrals to no cost and low cost legal services.

We're currently working with colleagues to explore how we can build a dedicated legal service to support local economies and earth friendly initiatives (LEEFI Legal, for short!)

We also host information workshops, peer support/networking activities and 'clinics' aimed at helping people connect with the various legal, governance and other services that exist in the broader community.

Nationally, we're working with a range of groups to build a New Economy Coalition for Australia, to strengthen networks and organisations working to create initiatives that support (rather than destroy) local human economies and the Earth community. Please click here for more details.
