Summary:
All around the world, communities are fighting to protect their local ecosystems and communities from the destructive impacts of coal seam gas, coal mining, logging and other harmful activities. This workshop offers a unique opportunity to hear from activists and lawyers, from Australia, the USA and Ecuador who are using new organising frameworks to successfully protect their natural and human communities. It will include information about new approaches in the USA and other parts of the world, which use organizing frameworks and local legislation to assert community rights and the Rights of Nature. Morning presentations will be followed by time in the afternoon for interactive discussions and break out groups, to assist with the development of new partnerships and collaborative projects.
